To make streets safer for kids by:
- reducing the number of cars on the road, particularly around schools
- reducing speed of cars
- creating an environment where there is safety in numbers.
 To
encourage kids to walk to school in order to:
- reduce traffic levels, making streets safer
- train kids to interact with traffic more safely in order to increase
their independent mobility
- improve kids overall health and fitness
- increase their 'sense of place' and belonging to a community
- stimulate their creativity by increasing tactile experiences.
To raise community awareness of children's needs for safer streets.
